Hamilton and Tims

Hamilton is home to the first Tim Hortons, or store number one, located on Ottawa Street North. It opened for business over 50 years ago on May 17, 1964.

Over the years, Tim Hortons has become a household name for most Hamiltonians. From Timbits to a double double to “roll up the rim” and beyond the store to Tim Hortons Field and summer camp, we all have a memory connected to this coffee icon.
